Search Network or Display Network: Choose the Apt One

04:23 |

If you don't want to wait patiently for a few months for your website to show up on the first page of Google, you need PPC. It stands for Pay per click but it encompasses other related methods such as pay per view, pay per conversion or pay per impression. PPC is, albeit mistakenly, is used interchangeably with paid campaigns.

In PPC, you pay Google to show your advertisements along with organic search results, if you have chosen Google search network in your setting.  Generally 8 advertisements are shown on the search result page, apart from the organic results. However, Google decides how many PPC to show on one page.

If you have chosen Google display network or a combination of both, then your ads show up on different websites as well. These websites are all Google AdSense associates and whatever you pay Google, Google pays a percentage of that to the webmasters of these websites.

We provide PPC in Thailand and clients often ask us, which is right for them? If you think your name is known to the common target users, you might want to stick to the search network alone as this means people are actively searching for services or products you sell. However, if you want to build brand recognition, display network is good for you. Google decides which customers might be interested in your services or products and shows your ads on whatever website they visit. Continuously seeing your brand, they become aware of it.

Also consider, bids for slots on search result page is considerably higher, compared to slots available on different websites.
